Abstract
In this report, we study the free energy principle. It is a methodology that can be used to describe an autonomous agent's choice of actions with two parallel and interacting processes: active inference and perception inference. The present report has two foci. First, to propose a choice of problem for an experiment based on how well the problem matches an approach that includes both perceptual inference and active inference for an autonomous agent. Second, to suggest a choice of methodology to illustrate the importance of active inference. We find that it is possible to divide the problem into a purely abstract problem and a military problem. We also note that it is possible in terms of both problem and methodology to fully reuse the implementation that was developed for the abstract problem with a limited number of possible actions by an autonomous agent in a subsequent phase with a military problem and an expanded set of possible actions by the agent.
