Iraq moves closer to Iran

In the ongoing duel between the USA and Iran, there is a risk that Iraq will once again become the battlefield between the two enemies. Moreover, Iran is tightening its grip on Iraq at the USA’s expense. These are among the conclusions of the FOI memo, Iraq moving closer into Iran’s orbit.

The memo also goes through the historical relation between Iran and Iraq, USA’s deadly attack against the Iranian general, Qasem Soleimani, and how Iraq’s instability increases the risk that the IS terror group returns.
