Abstract

This work is performed to broaden the library of scenarios for reconnaissance training of radioactive fallout which is used by the Swedish Rescue Services Agency, SRV. The previous scenarios are named SRV1, SRV2, SRV3 and SRV4. This scenario, SRV5, is created to accomplish training in areas where large and steep differences in dose rate appears. The scenario contains a deposition that covers almost the whole area (100 times 100 kilometers). Ten "hot spots" and one point source are also present whithin the area. The aim of this work was also to give opportunities to vary the scenario in many different ways to make it more difficult for the trained personnel to, based on previous exercises, predict the situation. The scenario can be modified in several ways, for example angle of incidence, positions of the ten hot spots and also strenght of the ten hot spots and the single point source can be varied. The method used for these scenarios is called MARS (Mathematical Radiac Simulation) and the final scenario is based on a mathematical function where the input parameters are received from aGPS module (position and time). After that the development of the scenario is finished, the scenario is downloaded to the simulator. The simulator used by SRV is described in a separate report.
