Abstract

A seminar was held in Stockholm on the 18-19th of September 2003 on Non-proliferation of Weapons of Mass Destruction - New Approaches for Protection of Forces and Civilians. The seminar was organised on behalf of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Defence. To the seminar representatives from NATO and EAPC (Euro Atlantic Partnership Council) were invited. One aim was to present developments in the CBRN area and explore possibilities for enhanced cooperation between EAPC countries and NATO countries in the area of CBRN protection. The program covered a wide area from describing the wider threat perception in the CBRN area to export control measures, information surveillance systems, developments concerning rapid response forces/teams, research and development on analytical methods, medical and physical protection.
