Abstract
When designing an appropriate communication system for a ground sensor network it is important to know how the traffic is generated from the sensors and the data fusion system. When evaluating different protocols for sensor networks it is therefore valuable to have a realistic traffic model. The purpose with this report is to describe a general traffic model for the data fusion in a ground sensor network which reflect the data streams. For this we use data from the ground sensor network demonstrator developed within the project Interactive Adaptive Ground Sensor Network. The data fusion system is intended to consist of a number of functions to be able to for example track and classify an object and enable the user to access the information in the network. These functions produce different data flows in the network with different requirements on the communication. These flows, with for example a varying amount of data, constitute the traffic model of data fusion in a ground sensor network.
