Abstract

This report is about services for cooperating platform operators. In the introduction, an interpretation and systematic penetration of the service concept is made. Then important operator requirements are presented. Resource management, sensor control and knowledge technology for cooperating agents are introduced, described and evaluated with regard to the operator requirements. The services often require that sensors can be used, and methods for sensor management are described in two appendices. Furthermore, the services might be viewed as distributed intelligent programs, and the agent technology is introduced as a knowledge technology supporting distributed decision making in networks. It might be used as a tool for cooperation in networks, and some military applications are described. An approach to agent-based theory for management of sensors in networks is presented.
