Abstract
New models for rigid and eroding projectile penetration and perforation including production of target fragments have been suggested. Furthermore, the model for eroding projectile penetration has been extended to shaped charge jet penetration. The present report extends the model for projectile production of target fragments to describe such production with shaped charge jets. Comparison with experimental results shows reasonably good agreement. The intended application of these models is in computer programs for assessment of the effects on and the vulnerability of complex targets such as tanks, fighter aircraft and naval ships.
