Abstract

This report describes the project "Multispectral infrared and electro-optical sensors" that was executed during 2005. IR and electro-optics provide advanced technical solutions for localization and indentification, including nightcapacity reconnaissance. The project included several sub-areas: o Modelling and simulation of sensors to enable analysis methods on simulated data. o Signal/image analysis with the purpose of detecting, classifying, indentify, and geo-localize targets, primalry ground targets. The analysis is applied to IR and electro-optical sensors in the entire wavelenght range from visible light to thermal longwave infrared. o Sensor development with the long-term purpose to demonstrate high-performance adaptive sensor systems in the enitre spectral range from visible light to thermal infrared. o Data acquisition in the form of measurements and field trials. The aim of the project has been to cover the entire chaing from sensors and measurement to image analysis, including modelling and simulation of the chain in order to be able to simulate scenarios that are not preferrable or possible to measure.
