Abstract
Research is considered to have a large impact on well-fare and economic growth. The research results shall be useful for the society and valuable for the customer. This requirement is getting more attention also for the armed forces. This report summarizes the contribution from the research founding organisation and the research project to knowledge and technology transfer. Moreover, the report gives an example a result oriented foundation, Mistra, and also the area Electronic Warfare which is known as a good example of performing useful research. The aim with the report is to give ideas and insights to problems that occur when the demand for result oriented research increases. The value of the research results must be seen in the light of the purpose. Research for new knowledge can not have the same demand for knowledge transfer as applied research. The Electronic Warfare area is known as the good example on knowledge transfer and I propose to perform studies on how the cooperation, between researchers and users, works during the projects and what processes are affected. The new knowledge can be used to increase the cooperation and knowledge transfer in other research areas within the armed forces.
