Abstract

The report presents a new type of equipment for simultaneous microwave and IR measurements. The equipment is based on an IR-camera (FLIR A320) and a microwave network analyzer (Wiltron 37269B). Microwave reflection of test panels (size 15x15 cm or 30x30 cm) can be measured in the frequency range 2-20 GHz. With a special heating device the test panels can be heated from room temperature continuously up to 300 °C. Temperature, IR emissivity and radar reflection can be monitored during the heating process. Measurements have been done on four different test panels all based on a radar absorber called Salisbury-screen. The absorber was covered with four different 2 mm thick PMMA materials, unpainted and painted with a black paint and a low emissive paint.
