Abstract

The project "MSI Command and control tools" has done research in two areas: command and control issues in staffs, and alternative interfaces for C2 tools. The main work has been done in the FOI Man-System-Interaction lab, where SAAB's BMS system "SLB" has been installed and developers have created a connection to the inhouse simulator system. The possibility is now available to perform concept development, demonstrations and scientific experimentation with tactile (and other) user interfaces. A demo with a tactile vest for armored vehicle driver on the motion platform has been performed in December 2009. Staff exercise attendance and support for OMF personnel are planned for 2010, along with further demos and concept development.
