Abstract

A chain of temperature sensors has been developed to be able to measure the temperature profile in water. It has been proven to work well under a period of three months. The system consists of four parts: a chain, 50 m long, with 100 temperature sensors; an underwater unit with a processor, an underwater cable and a unit on the shore with power supply and computer. The system can easily be moved.
